  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lubbock is celebrating National Mentoring Month by hosting events starting Jan. 9 with an ice cream social at Holly Hop Ice Cream Shoppe. It will include a movie outing, touring production of Water for Elephants (at Buddy Holly Hall) and a pizza party honoring mentors.  KCBD
  • Family Promise of Lubbock launched its Reach for the Stars campaign to expand homeless family support; the group plans to renovate a new 8,657 sqft facility (with 13 private units, case management offices, and multipurpose rooms) purchased Sept. 5 with City HOME-ARP grant funding to better meet community needs.  FOX34
