- ➤ Flix Brewhouse will reopen a former Alamo Drafthouse at its Loop 289 Northwest location (Feb. 23) offering a dine-in movie experience with craft beer and a full kitchen. KKAM
- ➤ A new Layne’s Chicken Fingers will soon open in the former Taco Villa on 19th Street — two blocks from Slim Chickens. Lubbock’s chicken scene heats up with competition among local spots like Raising Cane’s and Popeyes. KFYO
- ➤ The Pancake House will reopen Feb. 18 after nearly six months of renovations following September flood damage & extensive repairs that cost nearly $400,000. Owner Jeff Stotts kept its old, rustic look and welcomes customers back near Marsha Sharp Freeway and Avenue Q. KCBD
- ➤ Following six months of repairs after flood damage, Pancake House will welcome customers back on Feb. 18 near Marsha Sharp Freeway (Avenue Q). Owner Jeff Stotts spent nearly $400,000 on renovations and received a $13,000 grant from the Downtown Grant Program. FOX34

- ➤ The City of Lubbock confirmed that the Tim Cole Memorial statue is still at 19th Street and University Avenue despite a social media claim to the contrary. City officials (in a statement) said there are no plans to move the statue. Lubbock Avalanche-Journal
