  • The Lions Club Pancake Festival will take place this Saturday at the Civic Center from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Attendees can drop off old glasses in collection boxes to raise funds for local programs that help the visually impaired.  FOX34

  • That Mexican OT was tossed by a bull but remains ready to perform at Cowpokes in Lubbock today. The rapper said he is fine after the fall + promoters confirm the show is on schedule.  KKAM
  • Grammy award-winning Twenty One Pilots will present an IMAX film blending live performances and behind-the-scenes stories on Thursday, Feb. 26 at Cinemark Theater (2525 82nd) in Lubbock. Fans can enter to win free tickets.  KKAM

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Lubbock ISD approved sites for three new elementary schools (Bean students will move to the new O.L. Slaton facility, Stewart and Williams students will share a combined site, and Wolffarth and McWhorter students will form a single campus) as construction soon begins for 750-student schools opening in 2028-29.  KCBD

  • Three Lubbock police officers (Sergeant James Sullivan, Detective David Paulk, and Officer Mike Garcia) retired after years of service, with Garcia and Paulk looking forward to civilian life and Sullivan starting work for the state.
