- ➤ The 74th annual Lubbock Lions Club Pancake Festival took place on Valentine’s Day and served thousands with 6,000 pounds of pancake mix and 72,000 sausage links - the event raised over $1.9 million to benefit more than 30 local charities. FOX34
- ➤ The Unity Center, a new Islamic mosque and community center, has opened today in the former Arnett Elementary School in northeast Lubbock to offer sports fields and equipment for all. Volunteers made 30,000 food bags for charities during the opening weekend and a barbecue cookout is planned for today. KCBD
- ➤ After a 40-day planning effort, the former Arnett Elementary School opened as the Unity Center, a new Islamic mosque and community center where volunteers assembled 30,000+ food bags for local charities. Neighbors are invited to a grand opening barbecue and cookout today near North Ivory and East Queens. FOX34
