  • Lubbock Animal Services needs a medical foster for Aelin, a five-month-old puppy recovering from a broken leg after a vehicle accident. The foster will provide care for five to six weeks with weekly vet check-ups, and all medical bills are covered by LAS.  FOX34
  • Lubbock’s annual Independence Day celebration will feature a new parade route that kicks off at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, July 4 — starting from Avenue M and heading east down Broadway to Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. Events include a parade, picnic, concert, and fireworks at the South Plains Fairgrounds.  KCBD

  • Lubbock motorcyclists say the real danger on roads is not being seen by other drivers. Christopher Cogdill, who has been riding for four years, advises a defensive approach — TXDOT reports one biker fatality daily on Texas roads.  KCBD

  • Perky Palette is restoring the historic Garza Theatre in Post to serve as a free arts venue for the rural community. The nonprofit has completed design work and begun fundraising while preserving key Art Deco elements, with local sponsors providing small grants.  KCBD

  • Today, March for Babies launched its annual fundraiser in Lubbock to support research, programs, and advocacy for healthier pregnancies (the community walk is scheduled for Apr. 25 and donations can be made at partner grocery stores).  FOX34
