- ➤ Kokomo announced it will open a new location in Lubbock this March at 5217 82nd Street, Suite 106 — the eatery will serve Asian snack treats including boba tea, k dogs and mochi donuts. KFYO
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Lubbock man, Michael Kubicek (35), who was arrested in December 2024 for parole violation and a fugitive warrant, faced new charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon after video showed him swinging a shovel at a victim (on the 200 block of Sherman Avenue) on March 15th. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ An explosion and green fires rocked Texas Tech on March 12, causing the campus to shut down and spring break to start early—employees were told to work remotely from March 14 to March 20. Crews have restored power to 60% of the campus—while investigators work to determine the cause. Lubbock Avalanche-Journal

- ➤ TxDOT is reminding drivers to slow down, avoid distractions and drive carefully near children as families spend more time outdoors during spring break.
