  • Emergency crews from the Lubbock Sheriff’s Office and Woodrow Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure fire south of Woodrow Rd after a call came in at 11:00 a.m. (at FM 1730 and FM 41) as black smoke was seen (updates pending).  KCBD

CRIME NEWS

  • A Lubbock expert explained that people in West Texas were targeted by online scams in 2024 through offers for cryptocurrency deals, fake job listings, and romance scams—causing many to lose about $5,000 on average. He urged residents to ask questions and verify details online before sharing personal information.  KKAM
  • Stephen Patrick Furr (29) was arrested by the FBI in Lubbock on Feb. 3 after a community tip through the iWatchTexas program led law enforcement to investigate his online school shooting threats (charged with interstate threatening communications).  KCBD
