- ➤ A fire destroyed two homes and an autobody shop near 98th and Ave P last night — Lubbock Fire Rescue is now investigating the cause. Four suspects were arrested in New Mexico for a shooting that killed three teens and injured 15 — the Lady Chaps will take on Pittsburg State tonight at 7:30 on ESPN Plus. KCBD
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ 31-year-old Curtis Smith pleaded guilty to first degree murder in the 364th District Court and was sentenced to 25 years for fatally shooting 36-year-old Wade Parramore in west Lubbock on August 27, 2020 – he will receive credit for time served. KCBD
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Dr. Scott Bonn will host a talk called Serial Killers at Buddy Holly Hall’s Crickets Theater on October 26th. Tickets go on sale Friday, March 28th at 10 a.m.—the talk will cover profiles of infamous serial killers. KFYO
- ➤ Kandi Mountain will return to Lubbock on April 11 at Depot Alley with a free outdoor music show starting at 7 p.m. that includes food trucks and fun activities, and a ticketed indoor 18+ event beginning at 8 p.m.—the night will end with a headlining DJ at 12:30 a.m. KLBK

- ➤ Lubbock Christian School is hosting its annual Prom Queen event — giving high school students free prom dresses, shoes, jewelry, and makeup — to help them feel confident for prom. While one session ended Monday at 9 p.m., another session is available today from 3-9 p.m. at Baker Conference Center. FOX34
- ➤ Parts of the south and west sides of the Texas Tech campus are facing a power outage as students return after Spring Break following an explosion on March 12. Crews are working quickly to restore power. FOX34
