ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Lubbock PD warned residents that ongoing lane changes on Loop 88 have led to dangerous wrong-way driving incidents—drivers are urged to stay alert and follow new traffic signs to prevent fatal accidents.  KKAM
  • A Seminole woman, Christina Krahn Loeppky, 32, died when her Jeep Wrangler rear-ended a car stopped to turn left on FM 181 in Gaines County Thursday morning+ she was not wearing a seatbelt and the car’s driver was treated for minor injuries while a pickup driver was unharmed.  FOX34

  • On Saturday morning, a long line formed at Woody’s Liquor Store at 82nd and Slide for a special release of Masked Rider bourbon that sold out in about 30 minutes at $160 each with a limit of one bottle per customer.   • FBI Director Kash Patel announced on X that a large narcotics trafficking ring in Lubbock was dismantled on Wednesday—22 suspects were arrested and authorities said at least one was linked to Mexican drug cartels.  KKAM

  • Earlier in March, families visited Lake Lubbock National Landmark to explore walking trails and interactive exhibits that shared local history through displays like a Columbian mammoth statue and an American lion skeleton at the Robert A. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Senate Bill 8, filed by Sen. Charles Schwertner, would require counties with 100,000 people to join the ICE 287(g) program to help catch and hold criminal aliens—using a new grant program to pay for costs for most counties—and lawmakers will vote on the bill today at the Capitol.  KLBK
