  • Frenship ISD donated 250,000 servings of mac and cheese through its Cheddar Together drive (a fundraiser launched in December) on Tuesday to boost the South Plains Food Bank’s meal service.  FOX34
  • During Autism Acceptance Month, High Point Village hosts a program offering a welcoming space where individuals feel seen and valued (residents engage in supportive activities that celebrate unique strengths).  FOX34
  • KFYO and Furnished by Holly offer a $3,000 Spring Refresh Gift Bundle for moms that includes a design consultation, staging and store credit; registration runs Tuesday–Saturday until May 8 at Furnished by Holly (3501 50th St).   • DISH Network has not offered KCBD, Telemundo Lubbock, Lubbock's CW and My Lubbock TV for over a month because it rejected Gray Media's fee terms. Gray Media said it extended service during major events — NFL playoffs, Super Bowl and Winter Olympics — while DISH kept its terms steep.  KCBD

  • The Worship Center at 7210 82nd Street will host a free concert on Wednesday, Apr. 22 at 6:00 p.m., featuring touring band The Protest & local acts Grace Graber & Alabaster Jar.  KKAM

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Governor Abbott participated in the groundbreaking ceremony of the Texas A&M Semiconductor Institute in the Panhandle earlier in April (a move expected to boost tech innovation and strengthen the local economy).  KFYO

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Architects and civic leaders have incorporated public feedback into a 60,000-sqft expansion that will convert Lubbock Memorial Civic Center’s 40,000-sqft building into showcase exhibit and ballroom space. The final draft, partly funded by hotel tax and private funds, will be presented to city council in two weeks.  FOX34

  • Today, Dylan Cerbantez from Hale Center began cutting-edge immunotherapy in Lubbock under the guidance of Dr. Muhammad Bilal Abid from TTUHSC and UMC to treat his non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. The new option helps him receive care locally and avoid long trips.  FOX34
