CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Lubbock police are searching for 22-year-old Victor Yanez, wanted in connection with the murder of 28-year-old Joshua Rios after shots were fired just after 2:00 a.m. Monday on the 1800 block of Clovis Rd—officers found Rios with serious injuries and he later died at UMC. KCBD
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ East Lubbock Art House announced an Adult Book Fair on April 26 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at 405 M.L.K Jr. Boulevard—free books, arts and crafts, games and a bake sale will be offered and new book donations accepted. KLBK
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City of Lorenzo tabled an agenda item on Monday to ban semi-trucks, farming tractors, and campers to improve safety in residential areas—community members from farming and trucking argued the ban would hurt local jobs. Mayor Landin said council members will revise the wording and continue discussions soon. KLBK
- ➤ Lubbock County Elections Office released sample ballots for the May 2025 Cities and Schools General and Special Elections—a measure asking voters to approve Lubbock ISD Proposition A for a $290,000,000 property tax increase to fund school facilities and buses. Early voting will begin on April 22 and Election Day will be May 3. KLBK

- ➤ Eric Dickey, a Lubbock resident from Georgia, visited his friend Scotty Womack after Scotty suffered a stroke during a hunting trip in West Texas several weeks ago. The two men, who grew up near each other in Georgia, built a lasting friendship while Scotty recovered at a Lubbock hospital. KCBD
