- ➤ A 53-year-old Lubbock man was arrested Friday for threatening Senator Charles Perry and his family—he called the Star-Plus Crises Hot Line on April 16—and he said he would make the senator suffer as retribution—threats that also referenced a United Healthcare CEO’s murder—according to police documents. Hundreds gathered in O’Donnell to honor Dawson County Sheriff’s Deputy Jessie Perez who died last week — and the House passed the Take it Down Act to make revenge porn a federal crime. KCBD
- ➤ Lubbock Fire Rescue repurposed an old fire engine into Blocker 17 — a truck with LED warning lights, arrow boards and message signs — at Fire Station 17 near Indiana Avenue and South Loop 289 to protect first responders and drivers on high-speed roads. The truck follows plans made by the Roadway Safety Committee after a deadly January crash and will support local police, EMS, the Sheriff's Office and TxDOT. KLBK
