CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Lubbock Police announced that 82-year-old Leo Cerna (reported missing from the 1500 block of East 50th Street on May 18th) was found safe at 6:10 p.m. Sunday. FOX34
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Governor Abbott celebrated the inaugural graduation of Texas Tech University's School of Veterinary Medicine on May 18th in Amarillo (the first new veterinary school in Texas in over a century). Most graduates will serve rural areas after the state funded the school through legislation signed in 2017. FOX34
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor Greg Abbott celebrated the inaugural class of the Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine at its graduation ceremony on May 18th — the first new veterinary school in Texas in over a century that is expected to help meet rural veterinary needs. KCBD
- ➤ Rep. Carl Tepper spoke on Talking Points with Jen Phillips on May 18th about moving 18 bills through the Texas legislature and his focus on benefiting Texas. He explained how his work with the Speaker of the House is helping bring new support to Lubbock and West Texas—offering local insight into the legislative process. KLBK
