GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Bureau of Land Management announced a historic lease sale of 74 parcels covering 33,530 acres in New Mexico and Texas—bringing in over $4 billion. Officials said New Mexico will get about $2 billion to support classrooms and public services.  KCBD
  • Lubbock Fire Rescue has adopted a new incident command system that improves emergency response and life safety, and crews are now training with the model developed by a committee of chiefs + line officers to ensure a seamless transition in operations.  KCBD
