  • Catholic Charities of Lubbock will host its 3rd Annual Run to Remember on Saturday, June 20 beginning at 8 a.m. at Catholic Charities (102 Avenue J) in a family-friendly 5K run that passes through Guadalupe, Aztlan Park and Mackenzie Park while TXU Energy sponsors support for local social services.  KCBD
  • The City of Lubbock is asking residents to donate clean newspapers to help Lubbock Animal Services maintain animal care. Drop-offs began on Thursday, May 22 at Lubbock Animal Services (3323 SE Loop 289) and Citizens Tower (1314 Avenue K) during normal business hours and will be accepted indefinitely.  KLBK

  • Lubbock pet owners are urged to inspect their dogs for ticks as West Texas officials warn that ticks can transmit tick fever + dangerous symptoms. Owners should be alert for fever, vomiting, and other signs and consult a vet if needed.  KKAM
  • Trista Hamsmith partnered with Energizer to develop the 3-in-1 Child Shield battery to help prevent accidental ingestion after her daughter swallowed a button battery.
