A house fire near 34th and Quaker early Sunday left a family displaced when firefighters rescued a dog and put out the flames without any injuries while the Fire Marshal’s Office investigates the cause.

The 3rd Annual KCBD Healthwise Expo brought free screenings and health information to community members at Lubbock Memorial Civic Center on Saturday.

Organizers and local doctors stressed that early detection could help families manage health risks.
