- ➤ Sundaze is a local festival scheduled for Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. at 144 N FM 2130 that will support families hurt by last week’s severe storms—each ticket sold donates $5 to assist two affected local families while offering live music, food trucks, and community activities. FOX34
- ➤ Lubbock County’s Local Emergency Planning Committee launched the 2025 Support Our First Responders Campaign to collect bottled water and monetary donations for more than 40 emergency and public safety agencies facing rising prices and triple-digit heat. The drive runs through July 7 with a drop-off event at Market Street on July 5 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.—you can also contribute by mail. KFYO
- ➤ Mano Negra Brewing Co closed last year but is set to reopen downtown soon. Owner Daniel Badillo said the grand opening is planned for the last week of July or first week of August—featuring salsa classes, Thursday trivia, and artist meetups to reconnect the community. KLBK

- ➤ Last Friday, the Texas Attorney General's Office arrested 44 dangerous fugitives in the Lubbock and Abilene areas—targeting those with violent felony convictions and gang ties, including one with a sex offense warrant and 12 referred to ICE—to clear dangerous criminals from West Texas streets. - ➤ Lubbock’s Code Enforcement Department will deploy in Chatman Hill and Dunbar/Manhattan Heights tomorrow from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to inspect violations like junked vehicles and substandard housing in an area bordered by East 19th Street, Canyon Lake Drive, 34th Street and Ave A—citizens can visit the field office at East 24th and Redbud Avenue for questions or to report issues.
