- ➤ United Supermarkets launched its United for a Mighty Cause campaign in partnership with Mighty Wash and South Plains Food Bank to help fight summer hunger by collecting donations for peanut butter; guests donating $1.89 at checkout get a coupon for a free car wash and the effort runs until June 22—the campaign aims to support food-insecure families in Lubbock. - ➤ Lubbock’s event director Katie Sandifer is preparing this year’s 4th on Broadway with a parade starting at First Baptist Church and ending at South Plains Fairgrounds and an evening program with concerts, fireworks and a kids' area. The event will be held without its founder Don Caldwell, who passed away last year—volunteers are still needed. KLBK

- ➤ Angel Flight South Central provides free air travel for patients needing specialized treatment and helps deliver medical supplies to rural hospitals. - ➤ An 11-year-old Lubbock girl, Cataleya Carrasco, ended her cancer treatment on Thursday at UMC Children’s Hospital when she rang the bell amid cheers from her family+friends.
