- ➤ Lubbock police arrested three suspects on Wednesday—Alejandro Montoya, Elijha Elizondo, and one other—after an armed robbery at a McDonald's on S. Loop 289 when officers stopped a fleeing vehicle and recovered stolen items including a rifle. KKAM

EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On Monday, RWE announced that it contributed $25,000 in scholarships to the Texas Tech renewable energy program and students in that field. The scholarships will be awarded over five years with $1,000 given each semester to five students (this effort meets the growing need for skilled renewable energy workers). KLBK

- ➤ Lt. Snodgrass, who has served the LPD for 21 years (south division), graduated from the FBI National Academy on June 5th in Quantico (Virginia); her achievement places her among the less than 1% of officers nationwide who complete the rigorous 10-week program. FOX34
