The Fourth on Broadway parade in Lubbock continues under new leadership by Los Hermanos Familia as it honors the sacrifice of Pfc.

Corey Lee Winkle with his Gold Star Family serving as grand marshals — the event kicks off at 9:45 a.m. on historic Broadway with each float featuring a unique gold star to mark his legacy.

Data from the Texas Department of Transportation shows Lubbock recorded 86 collisions with structures in 2024 (1.3% of 6,483 crashes) while there have been 45 such accidents so far in 2025 (1.6% of 2,793 total crashes).
