  • Comedian Eric Schwartz returns to Lubbock for a stand-up show at Jake's Backroom on Thursday, July 3 at 7 p.m.—he will be joined on stage by local comics JJ Howell and Chrissy Covington for a night of laughter.  KFYO

CRIME NEWS

  • The Lubbock Police Department is asking residents to help identify a suspect in several vehicle burglaries in Central Lubbock after a person cut a fence and entered a property in the 3900 block of Avenue Q on June 3rd between 9:59 p.m. and 11 p.m., and was seen on video leaving with a small dog, a red backpack and wearing a gray t-shirt, dark-colored pants and white tennis shoes — anyone with information should call Detective Damion Pleasant at 806-775-2431 —.  KCBD
  • On Friday, the Lubbock Anti-Gang Center arrested four individuals following a search warrant in the 2500 block of 64th Street—one suspect is a 17-year-old wanted for attempted murder in Jones County.  KLBK

CULTURE NEWS

  • Comedian Eric Schwartz will return to Lubbock on July 3rd at 7 p.m. for a comedy show at Jake's Backroom, joined by local talents JJ Howell + Chrissy Covington as they promise a fun evening for the community.  KKAM
  • Concert tours are shifting as organizers favor large venues—bands like Pierce the Veil drew 20,000 fans at Dallas' Dos Equis Pavilion while Lubbock shows typically draw around 3,000; this trend may leave local fans with fewer chances to see top acts unless bands are either rising or winding down with nostalgic tours.  KFYO

  • The Larry Combest Community Health and Wellness Center hosted an open house at 301 40th St. to show community members its health services including primary care, prenatal support, diabetes education, behavioral health, and a program that brings care to older adults (with support for Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP, and most private insurance).
