- ➤ Milestones Development and Play Park said it disinfected its facility after a woman claimed her children contracted Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease after visiting the park last week, and the company said the family most likely got the disease elsewhere—officials dispute the social media allegations. - ➤ On June 26, Covenant Health blessed its eighth, ninth, and tenth Safe Haven Baby Boxes, including one at Covenant Children’s Hospital in Lubbock, to give parents in crisis a safe, anonymous way to surrender newborns — each box maintains a doctor-recommended temperature and a 60-second alarm delay until the baby is retrieved for care. The new addition supports Texas’s Safe Haven law that protects parents surrendering infants up to 60 days old. Lubbock Avalanche-Journal
