H-E-B’s Summer of Sharing Tour delivered food and free school supplies to more than 1,500 families near the South Plains Food Bank (SPFB) on Saturday.

More drives will be scheduled as summer continues.

H-E-B trucks delivered bags of food and free school supplies to over 1,500 families at the South Plains Food Bank Saturday — vital support during summer when school meals end — and more donation drives will be planned as the school year nears.

Lubbock Lake Landmark will host free Archaeology Days from Thursday, July 16 through Saturday, July 18 at 2401 Landmark Drive with tours at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. The event includes Native storytelling and ceramic demonstrations — a chance to explore local history dating back 13,000 years.

7 p.m. — Groves Branch Library — Ages 18+ — Delve into Lubbock Army Air Field's WWII significance and local engineering innovations.

SPiVEY at Summer Showcase 2026
