- ➤ Drivers on Upland Avenue must expect a traffic change starting tomorrow as crews move cars onto the new northbound lanes and keep one lane open in each direction. The $19-million project will widen the road from two lanes to five — adding sidewalks, better drainage, and updated traffic signals — and local businesses say the work is causing delays and customer confusion, with construction set to finish through Spring 2026. - ➤ Lubbock city council held its second public hearing on roadway impact fees, with Joshua Shankles saying that lowering fees would force taxpayers to pay more—city engineer John Turpin stressed that fees help cover rising road costs and support new home growth.
