CASA, a local nonprofit, will host its annual CASA Classic golf tournament to support foster children across the South Plains.

Lubbock ISD teams with Toot'n Totum to launch Spirit Pumps, where every gallon pumped earns five cents for school safety at five high schools.
A kickoff is set for Friday, Aug. 14 at 9 a.m. at 5202 Erskine Street, and the program (running for 15 weeks) will support local students.
Lubbock ISD ended physical punishment in 2020 and its Student Handbook for the current school year forbids paddling.
Texas law still allows corporal discipline but the district now relies on detention and loss of privileges instead.
Citibus will launch four new bus routes on Monday, Sept.
28 to improve travel for riders, including a brand new Route 205 and redesigned routes 025, 211 and 214. A community meeting is held today at Groves Library with more sessions planned over the coming weeks.
TxDOT projects are disrupting travel on Loop 88 + US 87 + South Loop 289, causing delays across the area.
Loop 88 work ends Oct. 30, US 87 finishes July 14, 2027, and South Loop 289 completes on Aug. 31.
TxDOT is hosting an event at the Lubbock District Mesquite Training Center that will help small business owners meet department staff (and prime contractors) to open up project opportunities.
The event aims to build long-term partnerships between government and local businesses.
Corner Kitchen offers an easy baked mozzarella stick recipe made with eggroll wrappers, part-skim mozzarella, olive oil spray and marinara.
The recipe calls for the oven preheated to 425 degrees and the wrappers baked for 15-20 minutes until lightly golden.
