Crews restored power for more than 5,000 customers on Friday morning after severe storms damaged electrical lines near 73rd & Slide in southwest Lubbock.

LP&L said power was restored between 7:30 and 8:10 a.m.

Early this morning at around 1:28 a.m., firefighters from Woodrow (and Wolfforth) responded to a call on the 3500 Block of 154th Street where a barn in south Lubbock County was engulfed in flames, with no injuries reported and no animals inside as the cause is under investigation.
