- ➤ Loon is a 7 year old pit bull mix (weighing about 57 lb) who returned to the shelter after multiple adoptions and foster placements and is now available for adoption with his fee waived for this week. - ➤ Legacy Play Village, once at 6401 Marsha Sharp Fwy W, was a beloved playground that offered inclusive play and specialized swings but fell apart from Lubbock's heat and wind and lack of repairs — it was bulldozed, leaving a gap in accessible community spaces. KFYO

- ➤ A federal judge blocked a Texas law that would have required every public school to display the Ten Commandments, saying it could force religious views on students. Supporters of the decision said that families—not schools—should teach religion—since public schools must remain neutral. KKAM
- ➤ TxDOT will restart construction on the US 87/FM 41 bridge project next year and is accepting public comments on proposed detours and timelines with a video update Monday at 10 a.m.—the project delay led a local business owner to call for an audit and greater accountability due to lost income.
