- ➤ Michael Miller, a 48-year-old Senior Warden at the Wallace Unit, was arrested on August 14th at Walmart on 114th Street and Quaker Ave for tampering with price tags to pay under $5 instead of $137.90 — he was released on bail as TDCJ moves to end his 27-year tenure. KFYO

- ➤ On August 20th, 2025, U.S. District Judge Fred Biery blocked Texas Senate Bill 10 that required public schools to display a specific version of the Ten Commandments—he cited concerns that the law could foster bullying and lack neutrality.
