- ➤ Lubbock Fire Rescue will conduct live fire training at the airport from Sept. 3 through Sept. 5 with drills running from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily—smoke and flames may be seen by nearby communities. KCBD
- ➤ Texas Senate lawmaker Brandon Creighton, R-Conroe, is expected to be named the next Texas Tech System chancellor soon as the Board of Regents finalizes its search— a statement released Sunday by Chairman Cody Campbell highlighted Creighton's record in higher education and leadership on key reforms.
