  • Woodhouse Spa in Lubbock has marked 17 years of service since opening in 2008 by providing over 500,000 spa treatments, creating 478 jobs and donating $277,000 to local causes. It will host a public anniversary celebration on October 16 featuring mini spa treatments, local catering and special giveaways.  KKAM
  • Habitat for Humanity’s annual Blitz Build started on Saturday in East Lubbock—volunteers gathered to help build homes and improve living conditions for local families, said executive director Christy Reeves. Longtime helpers like Cassie Lux and Mike Moss worked on tasks such as painting and basic construction to support the project.  KCBD
  • Volunteers started Habitat for Humanity’s Blitz Build on Saturday in East Lubbock to build safe homes for families. Executive Director Christy Reeves said the work has already brought local groups and employees together — showing how neighbors work to improve their community.  FOX34
  • Byrnie Bass, who nearly lost his life on Friday at the Texas Tech Rec Center, joined hundreds in Lubbock yesterday for the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk, sharing his experience to stress the need for CPR training and better heart health.   • Lubbock parents can take part in free tutoring offered every Saturday from 1—5 p.m. at Godeke Library and TJ Patterson Library through Robin's Nest tutoring, which covers core subjects, coding, and languages. The program aims to expand to more libraries and public schools soon.  KFYO
