  • October in Lubbock brings many family events; haunted houses at Nightmare on 19th Street run until November 1 and Phil Wickham will perform on October 15 at United Supermarkets Arena—giant dinosaurs at Jurassic Quest x Brick Fest from October 24 to 26 and science carnivals add more fun to the month. A rodeo on October 22–23, a pub crawl on October 25, and other local events offer options for all ages.  KKAM

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Texas Tech kicks off its Homecoming Week today at noon at the Student Union Building North Plaza, with a documentary premiere on Tuesday, a parade and pep rally with bonfire on Friday, and a football game on Saturday at Jones AT&T Stadium—all events are open to the public.  Lubbock Avalanche-Journal
