Volunteers are preparing a food bank for Lubbock veterans that will open in December.

They are holding a November food drive for boxed or canned foods—healthy options are especially welcome.

Rodeo Dental — a family dental practice — is opening a new Lubbock office at 4501 114th Street on November 14th with a party that starts at 12 p.m. and offers games along with a bounce house for families.

Today, culinary arts and floral design teams from Lubbock ISD compete at the Holiday Expo held at three Market Street locations from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. They show holiday recipes and decorations — with voters choosing the best display and awarding a $1K prize, custom chef coats, and floral aprons — giving the winning district bragging rights for the next year.

A national food site named Good Dog in Houston has named it Texas’s top hot dog spot for its locally baked buns and creative toppings (even though Texas isn’t known as the hot dog capital).

Lubbock’s Flippers Gourmet Hot Dogs at 1406 Avenue Q serves classic and inventive dogs that show West Texas pride.
