  • Lubbock parking lots are turning into informal pet adoption spots as locals rescue stray kittens and puppies during late-night shopping trips—showing care for animals in need. Residents also encourage spaying and neutering to help reduce the stray population.  KFYO
  • On November 7, 2025, country star Josh Abbott returned to Lubbock—meeting fans at Dairy Queen on University Avenue before Texas Tech's game against BYU. The event gave the first 100 fans a chance for a meet-and-greet and offered free Dilly Bars as part of the celebration led by the Dairy Queen Operators’ Council.  KKAM
  • An active duty Army soldier from Ft. Bliss is asking locals for help finding her missing military service dog Sugar, a 60-pound pitbull mix who works with children. Sugar was last seen Monday afternoon at her mother's home in Slaton and is chipped and current on vaccinations.  KCBD

  • Britta Tye was named the new community relations coordinator at Lubbock ISD on November 10 — she replaced Phyllis Underwood, who retired in June, and she brings her experience from University Recreation at Texas Tech to build local partnerships.  KCBD

  • At the Silent Wings Museum on November 11, Lubbock mayor Mark McBrayer and Congressman Jodey Arrington joined West Texans to honor veterans with performances by the Estacado High School color guard and the All Saints Episcopal children's choir—leaders stressed the importance of remembering those who served.  FOX34
