- ➤ Lubbock Cemetery will host its annual Wreaths Across America ceremony tomorrow, Dec. 13 at 11 a.m. at 2011 East 31st Street — the event will honor veterans with wreath placement immediately after the ceremony and seeks volunteers and sponsors. FOX34
- ➤ Darlene Snider of Veterans Thrift Store launched a holiday food drive to provide meals and warm clothing for veterans; local businesses back the effort with drop-off locations such as QDOBA (on Indiana and Milwaukee Ave) and Hub City Organics (on 82nd), and the drive stands at 20 percent of its goal. - ➤ Every Saturday at 8 a.m., the Dream Center hands out about 130 grocery bags to over 100 local families. The center’s partnership with South Plains Food Bank helps it meet growing demand during the holiday season. FOX34
- ➤ City Bank today announced 30 winners of its $60,000 Community Rewards program for nonprofits in Lubbock. The awards, given in six categories and including an extra $3,000 for International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, mark the 18th year of the initiative. FOX34

- ➤ CoNetrix celebrated its expanded office headquarters today at 11:45 a.m. with a ribbon cutting led by CEO Marvin Crossnoe and President Russ Horn — partners, clients, and community leaders toured the facility until 6:00 p.m. as the company invests in Lubbock’s growing tech scene. FOX34

- ➤ Christmas events are on this weekend (The Nutcracker at Buddy Holly Hall, Dec. 11 to 14; CS Lewis Christmas, Dec. 14 at Crickets Theater; Candlelight at the Ranch, free Dec. 12 to 13; Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Christmas Angels, Dec. 12 and 14 at CATS Playhouse). FOX34
- ➤ Candlelight on the Ranch returns this weekend at the National Ranching Heritage Center. The free event runs from 6:30-9:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday, showcasing 15 historic buildings lit with lanterns and campfires (a $5 donation is suggested) and offers a shuttle from UMC parking. KFYO

- ➤ Workforce Solutions South Plains received nearly $150,000 from the Texas Workforce Commission and a matching amount from the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance to train over 500 students in skills such as mechanics, welding, and construction.
