If you're settling in for the late game, here's the setup. No. 13 Texas Tech (7-1, 4-1 Big 12) hosts West Virginia (5-3, 2-3) at 8:30 p.m. at Galaxy Stadium, and it's on ESPN. After two straight 11 a.m. kickoffs, your body clock gets a break.

West Virginia wants to run, and Texas Tech knows it. “They’re one of the best offenses in the country, especially running the football,” head coach Joey McGuire said. His plan: “How many tackles for loss can we create to try to keep them behind the sticks?” Defensive coordinator Shiel Wood put it this way about quarterback Michael Hawkins: “we’ve got our hands full.”

Transfer forward Jamichael Stillwell sued the NCAA in the 72nd District Court of Lubbock County on Friday and was granted a temporary restraining order, which makes him eligible in the short term. EverythingLubbock expects him to start in his Texas Tech debut.

So after selling pumpkins all month, we have received notice from code enforcement warning us we can no longer sell pumpkins without a permit, we are giving away our remaining inventory for free!

“We’re not sure how having the permit makes the pumpkins any less of a nuisance, or who thinks selling pumpkins in your yard is injurious to surrounding properties, but it’s a strange world. Anyway, come get some pumpkins. They’re free!”

The Wrap

Imagine your old school giving you a tour, led by a kid. Wheelock Elementary threw a 75th birthday party Friday, welcoming alumni back to see what the school has become since it opened in 1952. Current students led the guided tours, and they'd practiced with a script. Sounds like a good crowd to learn from.
